Oh-oh, John, never a good idea to introduce yourself by asking for something of the members.
Fair enough. In my haste and enthusiasm, I must have forgotten to consult with my copy of How to Behave in Society. In my defense, I wasn't really asking for something. I was offering money to anyone with a spare Bigsby.
I'm John. I'm 35, married to a lovely gal and have one daughter. I play in a band that does late 50's to mid 60's rock and roll, mostly British Invasion. I'm an Aries. I hail from Madison, Wisconsin.
I'm a Gretsch and Vox guy and incorrigible gear flipper. For years, I've gone through guitars and amps like water. I don't collect them. I rarely have more than one or two, but I'm fickle. At the moment, I have one guitar and one amp, a '53 Gretsch Duo Jet and '64 Vox AC30:
That guitar and amp have been my mainstays for a while now, but I'm constantly on the lookout for a #2 guitar that brings something different to the table. I've struggled with Rickenbackers, Gibsons, Fenders, etc., and always find reasons to dislike them. I've never owned a Guild or had an opportunity to play a vintage one, but everything I've read about them leads me to believe that they offer exactly what I'm looking for. And I'm a regular at the Gretsch Pages, and there seems to be a lot of love for Guild among the Gretsch crowd, so that's another endorsement.
So, I'm in the process of buying a really nice '62 T-100DP. It seems like the kind of guitar I would really get along with, but I can't live without a Bigsby.
So that brings me to Let's Talk Guild. Once I have a Guild, and a Bigsby, I pledge to be a contributing member of this wonderful fraternity.
So....if anybody has a spare Guild Bigsby to sell, preferably for much less than $1,000,000, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
