I rarely play an acoustic with it plugged in, but I like those knobs a lot more than the sliders.

I've never seen an orange D30 before, have you? Wish I had the Ameros.

Same here, I rarely play plugged in. Also not a fan of the obtrusive "barndoor" style pre-amp controls. They're pretty common on Taylors and Takamines. The two control knobs are more pleasing, aesthetically imho.

Actually, I have seen orange on D30s, though not common. According to Hans, it was a standard color the last year they were manufactured:
