Saw Kinky Friedman this weekend and he was playing a marvelous looking Guild. Had abalone binding everywhere. Fret markers not the blocked D55 markers. We were not allowed to take flash fotos, so the pic I took is very fuzzy, but hopefully you can get an idea of what it looked like.

Anyone have any idea what he's playing?

I was able to get a quick picture of the heel, showing the intricate wood work, although it might be leather.

For those of you that don't know Kinky, he's a Texas singer/songwriter with a a flair for being off the top. He drank Jim Beam on stage and lit up a stogy at the end of the performance. In Santa Monica, CA there is no greater infraction.

He ran for Governor of Texas in 2006, I think just to needle the establishment. My favorite line of the night: "I believe politicians should be limited to 2 terms, one in office, the other in prison". Quite the entertainer.

Ah, another one of my heroes. Made his name in the 70s by writing such ditties as "They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Jesus Anymore", "Homo Erectus", "Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed", etc. with his Band the Texas Jewboys, obviously a parody of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. What isn't as well known is that he wrote straight Country songs as "Sold American" and serious songs as "Ride 'Em Jewboy", a tribute to Holocaust victims, which Willie Nelson did in a marvelous cover. In addition to his gubernatorial run (12% of the vote I believe), he was a candidate for Commissioner of Agriculture last year, but pulled out before the Democratic primary was held. He has written a popular series of mystery novels, has a his own brand of cigars, and started a dog shelter. Pretty active guy.
I think he has had that D100 a while, I believe I saw it in some older Youtubes.
