Me: Kansas, although Duke is gonna be hard to beat.

College hoops; the only sport I follow any more.

I am somehow leading the office tournament bracket contest, although I claim no special basketball knowledge.

Hence my bracket owner nickname: "GJ 'I don't know cr@p' M".

I did pick Kansas to win it all, heresy here in the land of 'Nova. Was at the Elite 8 game in Philly on Sunday when St. Peter's magical run ran into the UNC juggernaut. It was nice to see about half the fans rooting for the underdog.

OK so you're an old curmudgeon.

Actually, that's how I feel about all other sports than college hoops.
I too am an old curmudgeon. But unlike some other curmudgeons, my input is solicited and carries weight when it comes to whether a thread is so far off the core topics of LTG that it should be closed or removed. That is not a warning, yet :)

I considered a rant that boiled down to "I don't care so you shouldn't post that you care" but that just didn't seem right.

I then considered a rant about how I don't care and never did care about college basketball. But then I remembered that there are pictures and so it did happen.

Here I am playing not-a-Guild in a pickup pep band at a college basketball game.

I used to work on a sport arena for few months after being released from Navy @ 1972 - not a single athlete - or whatever - NEVER EVER said that track or conditions were the reason - or even minimally partial - they won. Instead they still mumble how circumstances were against them - they had to go to loo - they had eaten sumpting - or were too hungry. have crap in their pants - an evil eye is watching them - stars are not right - etc - etc - etc . . .

Do I watch sports? - No way!

Do I enjoy when a particular group has success? - Yes - now & then I catch the news that my birth-hometown icehockey team has beaten some other team - usually they're on the bottom of the league 😂 - every now & then they have shown them top dogs who's biting who . . .

I have a hard time deciding where you are Fro... I have a feeling you're the second from the left on bottom row though because for some reason, you don't strike me as trumpet guy?

I'm thinking he's the guy holding his own sheet music.

Didn't you get a music holder with that great big not-a-Guild?

Fro would have developed the skill to play more than one band instrument and plays the one none want to carry around - guessing that mini tuba.

Duke had a hand in my education, UNC hospital most likely saved my life, and Kansas used to be coached by Roy Williams. Guess that leaves Villanova out for me. Have to admire both Hubert Davis and Coach K. That's going to be a tough game to watch for me. It will either be great beginning for Davis, or a great ending for coach K.

Hmmmm... I'll guess Frono is the tuba player with the magnificent head of hair.

Edit: And I'll go with Kansas for the win. I stopped watching basketball a long long time ago but this NCAA Final Four has four truly iconic basketball schools, plus Duke v UNC for the first time in a Final Four, and Coach K's last trip, etc, there's a lot of chrome. All four schools have won it before, too.

Rock. Chalk. Jayhawk.
