Swung by while we were in the area. Had a Guild in the car, so....why not?

I have been to Bethel several times. It's not too far from here, about 70 minutes or so.

Very cool! Is that a Richie Havens signature on the TRC? The guitar looks like a D-55 with the abalone/pearl inlays. My older brother (70 yrs.) attended Woodstock with some friends. My parents were freaking out as they watched the news coverage on TV.

IIRC when Ritchie Havens passed away his ashes were spread on this very site

Al,

D-55, and yes, the signature on the TRC is from an autograph he did for me. Makes the guitar a bit more unique.
Spent the past week at place at a lake I spent all summer at from 1958 to 1971. It’s just down the road (24 minutes) from the Woodstock site at Bethel. I try and make a trip back to an inn at the lake every year for a few days stay. Cancelled our trip last year when things in NY were so uncertain due to the Covid shutdown. The road through to Bethel (17B) is still one lane in each direction.

I always have a Guild in the car when on vacation. “Made to be played,“ so I “don’t leave home without one.” (y)

Some awesome concerts coming up this year at Bethel Woods Center. Neat to see the venue it’s become. Would love to go back to see Marty Stuart play the indoor theater in late October!
