I don't know, but he certainly has the genes for music; his dad was Kenneth "Jethro" Burns, of Homer & Jethro. His mom's twin sister was married to Chet Atkins, as well.

Back in the 70's and, I think, into the 80's he played in John Prine's backup band and he co-wrote a few tunes with him too.
