You got your answer - Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen. Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. Jack gets mentioned here a lot because his Guild Starfire bass was modified by the folks who eventually founded Alembic who had a lot of successes in rock and roll technology.
