Armadillos will jump straight up when startled. That's why there are so many (or used to be) carcasses in the middle of the lane rather than close to the shoulder or centerstripe. They would jump into the undercarriage of a vehicle.
An armadillos is almost impossible to pull out of a hole that it is digging. They can dig their long claws into the ground...but if you attempt to push them into the ground, they will back out.
Armadillos are the only other species besides man that can be afflicted by leprosy.
I also think that this is correct, I believe that when baby armadillos are born that there are eight in a litter, and they are all identical twins (octeplets, or whatever that would be called).
