What gauge strings do you use on your 12-string?

I like my 12 string guitars to be easy to play, but I don't like the feel of extra-light strings. My compromise is to use Newtone Heritage strings (they are lower tension strings) in an 11-48 gauge, tuned down a half step (D#).

Both twelves down a step and a half; with capo. Medium silk and steel on one, light 80/20 on the other. In addition to much lower tension at the bridge, my short fat fingers can reach a 4 fret chord up there.

Which one are you using s&s on, Balderdash? Just curious. I've only ever (accidentally) tried s&s on my Ibanez 12er, and the tone was so subdued that I thought I'd broken something!

The 512. First attempt trying the s&s after reading some good reviews. I like them, but not not enough to go without the 80/20s. A lot of the playing I do is between 5 and 7am, while Mrs Balderdash is still asleep, so subdued is okay…
