I woke up this morning to the local news talking about the snow storm that is hitting us in the Midwest. In my area so far we have had over 13 inches fall overnight with winds blowing up to 50 mph. The wind died down but it’s still snowing and will be for a while. The funny thing to me is that locals seem to be shocked by the storm. It’s Wisconsin people! We have storms like this every 8 to 10 years! Stay inside, grab a Guild, and enjoy the snow day off from work. This is the fence in my back yard. It’s 48” high, so you can sort of gauge the depth of snow so far. I apologize about the graininess of the photo, but it’s still snowing pretty heavy here.

That was quick. The snow plow came. Shame he felt it necessary to pile all the snow on top of the mailboxes instead of behind the Dead End sign. I think I’ll give a call to the city and see if they will correct that lack of good judgment.

Looks like Michigan right now, 'cept our streets aren't plowed yet. We're all home for a snow day today!

Re: What do you expect?

I guess northeast Ohio would be the southland compared to you guys. We were right in that ugly pink zone on the weather map. Instead of heaps of snow we got rain and freezing rain. I awoke to about an inch of ice on the driveway and a couple of big limbs down in the back yard. It was good for a day at home, but, I'd rather shovel snow than scrape ice any day.

Stay safe and warm ...

I coulden't agree more. I would much rather have the snow.

I was literally snowed in the house! The front door had about 4’ of snow holding the storm / screen door shut, but luckily the back door opens inward and I was able to get out that way. Still, even the back door had 3’ of snow against it. It took a couple of hours but I have us all shoveled out now.

Out the back door.

For extra points, can you guess what this is?

We're finally dug out & the plows have been through. Rather surprising they were on it as quickly as they were around here. We actually had thunder here a few times late last night. Heard they experienced the same in Chicago.
