We need it too, but not for the same reason. Is all okay? You're not in any danger are you?!
Thank you for your con cern. Yes, all is good. This turned out to be around 1500 acres! But it was battled for several days with air drops and ground crews. Very smoky!

Here in the Mid-Atlantic, we're finally getting rain after a 3-week dry spell. 3/4 inch as of 7 am, and probably another inch since then. Ground was so dry there isn't much problem with excess runoff. Yet.

Only 3 weeks? It seems like it's been months since we had rain, although maybe it hasn't been that long, just seems like it. It has been a number of weeks, though. The pasture grass isn't growing. Had to get hay rolls for the cows this morning. The garden and the part of the corn field are on irrigation. Yard grass is getting crispy. It sprinkled this morning and was grateful for that as it's better than nothing but it certainly wasn't much. Hoping that's not the last of it, but it will be what it will be. Can't control it.

Glad you're okay. Smoke is bad, too, but fire is much worse!!

We haven't had a good rain for well over one year. Hoping for a great monsoon season!

Rain certainly does not fall evenly - anywhere. Just heard on the radio few days ago, when we had some heavy rain - that in Helsinki they got so much water, that statistics show equal amount at 1844 - that is 177 years ago !!!

I'm hoping for a nice, wet monsoon season here in Vegas as well. Been well over a year since any measurable rain here. I really miss water from the sky. It's one of my favorite things as a pluviophile!! I get so hyped and energized, but apparently I moved to the wrong place for that.

We must be getting it all. That's all it seems to do here the last month in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

I guess it missed us again, and for now none in the forecast for the next week. Hoping that will change.

Had the back mowed six weeks ago and it's up to my neck in grass/hay. I let the neighbor use my land for his free-range chickens, but they can't put a dent in it. Really too wet to get a good cut, so I wait.

Huh. I just assumed everyone who lives in Las Vegas had pluviophobia. My bad.
