These DeArmond pickups with the beveled faces, from around 1959, are not very common, especially with gold plating. Guild may have used them on the X-500, and they appear on the early DE-500 that Duane Eddy holds on the covers of his Girls! Girls! Girls! and Twistin' 'N' Twangin' albums.
I have a 1960 Starfire with beveled DeArmonds, and I love the unique and robust response of those pickups, so I snagged this pair when I saw them. Unfortunately, I haven't found a worthy use for them.
I have tried to represent the condition of these pickups in the photos. They have small scratches on their faces, and their gold plating shows wear. To avoid further abrasion I have not tried to polish them. Their shielded leads are 20 inches (50 cm) long and their resistance measures 9.73k and 9.76k Ohms.
I don't want to split this rare pair, so I am selling them together for $750, payable through Zelle or Paypal Purchase. This price includes standard shipping to the US, Canada, UK, or EU. Please check with me about other destinations.
I'll offer a 14-day return period on these pickups, but the buyer would pay return shipping and insurance and I would deduct my own shipping and insurance costs from the refund.
