I'd love to give a good report on DR's as they are made close to where I live, but my experience with them was mediocre at best. I keep coming back to DA PB Mediums.

I stopped using EJ16's about two years ago. Went to Martin SP's.

I too haven't been overly impressed with D'Addario's mid to lower budget stuff. EXP's are usually ok though.

And to echo several other posters, you definitely can't go wrong with either Pearse PB's or 80/20's

I went to Dubuque Iowa today and stopped by Uncle Ike’s Music to pick up a supply of strings and another Kyser humidifier. The acoustic string sets I got are; Elixir Nanoweb PB .012-.053, Martin SP PB .010-.047, Martin SP 80/20 Bronze .012-.054, D’Addario EJ16 PB .012-.053, and John Pearse PB .012-.053. I’m going to try the most expensive set first, the Elixir, just to see if the sound is as good as I have been led to believe, and to see if they are worth the extra bucks. :?

I put a set of DR Rare strings on my Yamaha L-20A this morning.
They sound as good as any string set that I have ever used.
They have a nice soft feel that is probably due to them being light gauge strings, even though they are labeled as mediums.
I have used them before and liked them.
They lasted as long or longer than any other uncoated strings that I have tried.
A lot longer than the John Pierce PB's that I have tried.

I'm a D'Addario user normally and I will continue to be one but the DR's are a nice change once in a while.
