Ever since I sold my T-100 and my Starfire III, I've been in a blue funk. SO I'm looking to get another Guild Hollowbody - soon! I am pretty well versed in the values of the T-100/Starfire models, but I would also like to consider a CE-100. I definitely will get a Guild with a Florentine cutaway.

So what might be the retail value of a 50s-60s CE-100 in average condition? I can't find any sites that have realistic values. Anybody?

Thanks,
Dean

I can answer my own question . . .

I just got a 1956 CE-100, and I think I did OK. It's really hard finding any type of pricing on these - not many around, I guess. Anyway, I won an auction for $820 for the guitar, and I think that's fair for what it is.

Awhile back, I had a T-100, but I sold it - biggest guitar mistake I ever made. I figured I'd try a CE-100 this time just because I like the size of the guitar. I love that florentine cutaway! This should be a fun guitar to have..

I was watching that one, too, Dean, and I would say you got an excellent deal if the guitar is in nice shape. Let us know.

The CE-100's on e-Bay generally go around $1,000 or higher, but the range is rather wide and not very consistent. Seldom go for less than $900, and I believe I've seen a few go $1,350 and higher.

Provost in the Sin Cities,

The Vintage Guitar Price Guide has 1950's CE 100 at $1,400 to $2,000, and 1950s CE 100D at $1,700 to $2,300. That would be for ones in excellent condition. I assume almost all would be P90s and a few D'Armonds.

In 1978 when I first got to the Mini Apple, I heard part of a radio commercial for Powdermilk Biscuits. So I went down to Seward Co-op and asked for them.

Powdermilk Bisquits . . .

Yeah, you must have tuned into Prairie Home Companion at just the right time to hear that commercial. They always have been hard to find.

Thanks for the info on the price guide - that helps.

I have a question about pickups that I'll put in another post.

Thanks,
Dean
