How can you tell if the guitar neck has a twist in it? Seems I read somewhere that you sight down each side of the fingerboard and the sight line should point at the top of the bridge or some such thing. Is this the case? I have a F212XL with the treble side pointing at the top of the bridge, and the bass side points noticably below the top of the bridge. Any feedback is appreciated.

Sounds like it to me. Fortunately, you should be able to take that twist out by adjusting one of the truss rods.

Standard cavet: Take it to a luthier, just to be sure!

Agreed, unless you have a lot of experience with them, a twisted neck is not something you want to mess with yourself.

And, relax. Most every neck I sight down has some "twist" that does not line up with the joint with the body or the bridge itself. I have a guitar with some twist that I've compensated the saddle for and all is well, the neck is stable, I just don't want to send it off for warranty replacement (the wood is so beautiful on this thing, I am afraid Guild would want to replace the guitar and maybe send me one with plainer mahogany :)

Thank you :D I was just about to ask about that. So it seems some twist in the neck is acceptable. Was checking my D50 and DV 72 and both seem to have a bit of a twist. I had the D50 in to the repairman when I got it. He adjusted the action, made a new saddle and a couple other little things. Also pointed out a couple warts. He said nothing about the neck. Wondered maybe was it just me. :(
