I put on a set of Medium D'addarios, Phosphor Bronze, and tuned it way down to a C. What fun now its like playing Leo Kottkes' guitar. I think I'll leave it like that. A song like Early Mornin' Rain, is made for that sound. I am really impressed with how much lower end and full spectrum tone the humble little f112 is capable of. Guilds never fail to impress when you take them into 'new' territory. :D :D Steffan

Bronson is ready for a new set. Think I'll try that this weekend, Steffan. EMR is such a great song; I've been tuning to 'F' for that one lately. I'll give it a trial run in 'C'...

After you tune your guitar up. drop the low strilng a tone. (like a drop D tuning) sounds great. You have that old time vintage 12 strilng sound. Marvelous. Have fun Scratch. :D

I'm gonna have to try that, though I doubt it'll make me sound like Leo.

I firmly believe that jumbos and 17" lower bout guitars (like my very cool G41 that will certainly make its way to Arlington) demand drop tunings. A low C adds a new dimension to songs in C, F, or Am. Try one of each!
