Now I've beat on my D 35, things are settling in and I have buzz on the high E from fret 3 to 8, prime truss rod territory. Low and behold, it is a nut instead of a hex. I have sockets but they are too big on the outside. Special tool needed? Seems odd. I can take it to my luthier but a quarter turn tweek is all it needs. But how?

Yeah, the walls of a regular socket are too thick. If you have one of these, just take the changeable bit out, and it should fit right over the nut. It works for me!!

If you don't have one of those you can go to the Auto Parts store and buy a thin wall individual socket for a few bucks. I have a 1/4" drive deep well thin wall socket that works great. Also using the ratchet lets me make precise 1/4 or 1/8 turns.
