Pretty cool! I like that he has a smattering of different Guild bass models all across the spectrum.

Now . . . let's talk about that mask collection! 🤨

Thanks for posting. I'd watched many of his videos, but hadn't looked them up lately, so the one you posted was new for me.

I found Troy when researching the bass line for "Bye Bye Love" when we were doing the Ukraine benefit with Elliot Easton. He's a great guy and player, and I think he has more basses than I do!

I was familiar with the B-301 and Starfire. The Pilot surprised me with how deep and clear it sounded with a relatively small body. The demo made me want to try one.

I have enjoyed his videos for quite a while now and have been waiting for his Guild collection video to be posted. He seems to be such a relaxed player.

Finally watched it. I do wish he invested in some video editing tools. Even without sticking to a script there's plenty of time that is not adding value. Perhaps as expected there are similarities of sound. For me the B30x's and the SB-202 were interchangeable. Pilot and Starfire were different (from everything else and each other) but neither sounds much like mine when I am dialing them in for my environment. I was glad he noted the swapped bridge on the Starfire. Probably from the 90's reissue.

My personal takeaway is going to be that I don't need to be interested in other Guild long scale basses as long as I enjoy my Pilot.

What you need are more Pilots! I'm really glad that @mavuser goaded me into buying my blue '86 (with Grot's preferred "foot" headstock) because it's the best of my three. I don't know whether it's the headstock or the poplar body but it just sounds great, so much so that Elliot Easton even remarked to the same. And it was $350 with the original case!
