What's funny is that in three trips to Scotland, I've yet to see a Corgi. A lot of Scots equate Corgis with the Royals, who aren't very popular there, or with my dad, for that matter.Clan MacTwocorgis... Nae numpties allowed!
You are a fortunate man!Having a dad that was born and raised in Edinburgh, I almost qualify.
I absolutely love it over there, and the only thing I love more than the country is the people. I really wanted to go back this fall, and bring my girl who hasn't been there yet, but work isn't cooperating. Edinburgh is easily my second favorite city in the world, and a place that I wouldn't mind settling in or near to when I retire, which will be pretty soon. My dual citizenship is in the works right now, and it will be nice to have options in the future. You are a fortunate man!
Had my first trip across the pond to Scotland right before COVID hit. Fell in love with Scotland. We stayed in Edinburgh for three days, not near enough time. Amazing city to say the least. I always tell my wife, all roads lead to Edinburgh. Over the years I have been surprised to find out that many of the musicians that have inspired me were born in Edinburgh. Not to mention the great Scottish writers and poets that either spent time or lived in Edinburgh.
Evidently someone has been "hauling numpties to Newcastle."Dentists prefer Novocaine as the nostrum for numbing numpties in Newcastle. Just sayin'.
In Scotland they don't use Corgis to make Haggis do they? What's funny is that in three trips to Scotland, I've yet to see a Corgi. A lot of Scots equate Corgis with the Royals, who aren't very popular there, or with my dad, for that matter.
Retiring to Scotland would be fantastic! My dual citizenship is in the works right now, and it will be nice to have options in the future.
You need to get to the Borders, and also to the Highlands. The seat of my clan is at Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye, and I think Skye is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, if a bit too remote for me. My dad loved the Borders south of Edinburgh, and Peebles in particular, and after being there I can see why. Looks like a perfect place to live to me.Retiring to Scotland would be fantastic!
We went over with my brother and his wife and met up with their friends who live outside Glasgow. We had an amazing tour of the country, way too short though. We can't wait to go back for another visit.
