I filled an online cart at my grocery store. When I went to curb-side pickup, I gave the woman with my groceries a $5 tip. I did get out of the car, but only to open the hatchback. I'm no aristocrat used to tipping servants, but it seemed appropriate.

Not sure what the protocol is...

I am doing pick up, not delivery. Most of the places I go are places I patronized when I could go there in person. They are all locally owned and I know some owners and some staff by name. So even if all someone does is carry my order from the back to the counter, these are people I know and I want to support so that when this is all over they will still have jobs and I will still have good local beer and local food. So I tip something although not quite as much as I did when there was "more" service. On the assumption that a delivery driver was local I'd probably tip something.
