I found this site, "Main Street Vintage Guitars" that show two very hammered Guild Thunderbirds under reconstruction. See Current and Past projects.

It is good to find that these old guitars are now appreciated and worthy of an expensive rebuild.

They also have a hollow body M85II under reconstruction.

I was all set to question you on that because the instrument pictured has humbuckers (rare, but not unheard of in a hollow M-85) but I went back and looked and you seem to be right. The top seems to be arched a bit, whereas the solid version is flatter. The overall thickness of the body seems to be greater than a solid body and, the clincher, there is no "access cavity" under the PU toggle as shown in the close up of the "neck strap" repair. Is there anything else that lead you to your conclusion that I missed?

Thanks.

frono,

One of the pictures shows the deep "hollow" body. Also years ago I owned a black hollow body M85II with HB's.

Thank you Mike ... really great stuff. Not to disrespect the T-birds but there are some seriously expensive amplifiers in that shop

Nice link, Mike. Thanks.

Tell you what, CJ. I'll whistle "Dixie" to distract them. You grab the amps and run out the front door. I'll take that ES-335 and go out the back.

We can meet and jam at Hole in the Wall.

Thanks. I remembered that you said you had had that configuration so I was trying to confirm that my imagery interpretation skills and memory were not getting any worse.
