I sliced the tip of my index finger off when working in a deli when I was 20, and cannot hold a pick in place using my thumb and index finger. Has anyone used a thumb pick, the style that looks like a regular flat pick with a loop attached to fit your thumb? Do they work? Stay on?

Thumbpicks seem to be a very personal preference. I think I tried that Herco style and didn't care for it, but can't recall why.

This thread describes a pick with a built-in spring that makes a thumbpick more comfortable for some folks.

I have gone completely over to bare thumb/nail and finger picking.
