This came up on one of the other forums, it is really important information...and could save a life
yours or maybe your childs....Please take a few minutes to inform yourself about this issue that if ignored is very perilous. There is a date of manufacture stamped on the inner wall of the tire, and sometimes 'new ' tires are years old and dangerous from the time you buy them.....Steffan

Ah - you notice we Brits already have the 6 year warning in force - but then you drive on tires - they get tired :!: We use tyres :mrgreen:

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about this. The problem might be even worse in dry climates like Phoenix. Although the geezers here can attest to the fact that a lot of progress has been made in tire safety since we drove on tube-type and 2-ply in the 60s, there's a ways to go yet.

I'm glad to hear that Discount culls those tires. It's easy for me to believe because they are the best I've found, so that's the only place I've been going to for 15-20 years. Even a new car dealer service rep told me that I should by my tires at Discount because he couldn't beat their deals and bought there himself.

They are the cheapest I've ever found and they deal in massive bulk. That's how they offer them so inexpensively. How ya doin' Doc?

Ah, been pretty grueling here lately. Just made a move to the country, but it's been worth the work. We're still unpacking boxes, in fact, Mrs. West is probably wondering what I'm doing in here on the computer..........I hear the paper rustling in there.

The only traveling I'll be doing is out to the yard to trim trees and kill weeds. I'm taking a huge hit on the income this year. But look on the bright side. I can't afford food and clothes, so I'm dieting and wearing the stuff that used to be too small.
