Perhaps the abundant snow... signifying weather too cold to be carrying a nice Guild outside (and perhaps worse, straight back into the nice warm shop). Hope it didn't take long to snap those photos... wonder if the seller will add pics of the the finish checking that appeared since those were taken?

(added: in the sellers defense... we went from subfreezing weather with snow on the ground to 50F this week, so it might not have been that bad. Of course... temp dropped and it snowed again today)

The only thing missing, is Santas sleigh with him holding the guitar at the North Pole...

If it is taking a guitar outside for photos when there is snow on the ground let me just say that I had snow piles like that on the ground when the temperature was over 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

My concern about the listing is the seller seems to misunderstand just how long Fender operated Guild in Westerly.

I remember doing something similar when I first joined here with my new-to-me F50R. No mishap, but it probably helped that I had no idea what I was doing at the time, and there was probably some other force looking out for me.

I also remember opening the box right away when it arrived, and still not a single finish check to be found on the guitar. I think this particular guitar looks like a satin finish, so you wouldn't have to worry about checking anyway.

Second that. Also noted the upside down TRC. I mean, c'mon, it's got writing on it !
That finish however, appears to be the "HR" hand-rubbed, which makes sense as these were derived from D4's. I suspect that's not subject to the same issues as the gloss. In fact it just occurred to me that maybe that was a good thing in a low-end guitar that was more likely to be a "camping guitar" than the higher-end ones.
