Just ordered a set of DiMarzios for "Lucky" (named after the 3 legged, one eyed dog with no tail) chronicledhere. Got tired of looking for California pups, so I ordered two Area 61 pups for the single slots and a Super Distortion for the lead position.

Enough S100 talk - let's see some other Guild solidbodies!

Maybe this will explain our devotion/madness to the S-100s. This was an unsolicited comment from a buddy of mine from the Hamer guitar forum, who used to have a Bluesbird and regrets selling it (a nod to your non S-100 talk plea, GAD) ...

"I bought an S-100 Standard years ago because I couldn’t afford an SG…and it beat the pants off any SG I’ve ever owned."

I have no doubt that S-100s are stellar guitars. Every Guild I've ever played has been a stellar guitar!

What I would like is a cherry S100 with P90s and a 1 11/16" neck. No Guildsby thanks. That would be great. :)

I wonder why Guild never built a solidbody with P90s. What I would find interesting is a solidbody with a P90 in the neck and an HB-1 in the bridge. Seems like it would be the best of all worlds to me.

Closest I've seen is the Blues 90. The Gibson BFG was chambered body with a burstbucker bridge pickup and P90 in the neck. Dunno if Guild did anything like that.

Didn't we just see a yellow M80 custom shop with P90's a while back? I think it was in Ebay.

If I'm not mistaken, that was a Bluesbird you're talking about.
It said " Fender Custom Shop " on the back.
I think it was maple.
It doesn't show in the "completed listings" on eBay any longer.

A friend of mine on another guitar forum told me he traded his Ampeg B-25 head to the original owner of this ...

And yes, he has the original knobs. He took 'em off for cleaning and polishing of his newly acquired red sunburst Guild S-275.

I saw this on eBay last year, and from the other pics it looked like a nice custom job that someone did... but I was outbid :( This would have been just about my perfect guitar. Also, just for the record, the Reverend Double Agent has a P-90 in the neck and a Humbucker in the bridge as well as the Duesenberg that was already mentioned. That is a nice combo.
