Hi,
I read this forum more than post, and always look forward to it. Last time I posted was about my 60s Guild Uke that I had gotten. I recently came across and bought this 80s Guild D25C and have been enjoying it a lot. Some recent posts have mentioned this D25 version, and I thought I'd send out some pictures. I at first didn't like the cutaway (I thought it was a DCE when I saw it hanging on the wall in a shop), but it has grown on me. It makes it very easy to grab and go. I'll shut up now and here are some pictures:

That look more like a big dent than a cut-away.

I've never liked the big cuts on a dreadnought body, but that one is less in your face. Interesting.

I like the fact that the upper frets are going to be accessible. I agree with John that it has an interesting look, certainly a unique version of a cutaway.

Hi Joe,

When I first played it in the store it sounded just ok but I saw that it had old strings on it. I measured them (11's) and put new 11's on. Sounded better but still was lacking that low end rumble and clear mids I thought it should have. Took the 11's off and tried 12s. Much better but...once I put 13's on, man, it just bloomed Guild! I have it tuned down 1/2 a step and think it's in its sweet spot. Sounds best strummed but fingerstyle is fine.

I have a 84 D25C cutaway. I put a powered Fishmann system in it. I play out with it and it is the nicest sounding guitar I have ever heard. I have 12. Guitars including Lp, custom Strat ect.. If the house is on fire I grab this one first.
