My long scale and short scale JS-2`s.
Since both came without their original cases, I bought 2 epiphone eb3 cases which fit quite well, almost perfect.

The black 1971 JS2 was refretted and refinished after I bought it last year.
It looked like the coat of paint it came with was done with a spray can,the paint would scratch off with a scrape of a fingernail.
Since that picture was taken I`ve replaced the rosewood saddles with some brass ones I got from LTG member `peteybass`.
The sustain is much improved and because I play it mostly on the deep setting with both p.ups or neck p.up, I
found the sound to be clearer with more attack and better response without losing any bottom end. Thanks Peter.

For the visitor from the future, so long as the pictures are here...

Count the frets. A JS has 21. A JS LS has 20. Or if you don't want to take your shoes and socks off, look for a fret dot at the position closest to the bridge. If it is there it is not a LS.

Also the LS is discussed here. It is a JS body with PUs, controls and bridge that were spec for the successor B-30x. Hans agrees that it came from the factory that way but doesn't know why. See the referenced thread for educated speculation.

Just adding that the `77 JS2 LS also came with the weird batman shaped pickguard.
Also "if you dont want to take your shoes and socks off" a long scale has 3 dot markers after the 12 fret and a short scale has 4.
