The guitar in Jay Black's photo

With the recent passing of Jay Black (Jay And The Americans) I came across an old photo of the band. In the photo is Marty Kupersmith holding what appears to be a Guild guitar. I've searched trying to ID the guitar but
don't find an exact match. My limited knowledge makes me think it the elusive Starfire VII but the toggle isn't in the right place. I thought that surely someone here would know what I'm looking at.

It is a Starfire Custom 7 from 1969. Here is a thread discussing the known Custom 7 guitars and that photo is in the second post. The earlier ones had the selector switch on the upper horn where it moved to the lower on the later produced models.

Have we seen this Custom 7 before?

The truss rod cover and pickguard are unique. The butter bean button Grover Imperials are unusual, too (normal for a Gretsch, though).
