My D-25 is a boomer. Bassy and loud. It is great for setting the pace; leading sing-alongs and for Bluegrass.
My DV-52 is a crooner. Balanced, jangly tone across all 6 strings. It is perfect for just singing solos - and it sounds better through my amps than the D-25.
So if I'm going to a Bluegrass jam or leading music at church, it's the D-25.
If I'm headed for an open mic, it's the DV-52.
Now, what other criteria can I come up with to convince my wife I need a nice red D-15? LOL
