Hello friends and Guild fans alike. I am very proud to announce that my Starfire custom color collection is now complete. The Black, Emerald Green and Amber Starfires are all from 1962. All starfires are IIIs, except the Amberstar which is a SFII. All guitars are original with a few very small exceptions and all are in original cases.

I have never seen a photo like this before but I am sure someone else has to have the same sort of collection. But I will say now and for the record, I am here just to show off these guitars. It took a long time and a lot of cash to make this complete and yes, I want the entire world to know it's mine. So there, I said it. Now lets see some pix. The first shot is a group of all four.

The next shot is just kind of a fun shot and yes I had the door locked so no one would knock them over.

This shot is one just of the Red and Amber starfires to show the true difference in color.

This shot is a closer shot of just the 3 custom colors all from 1962. As you can see the Amberstar is a SFII. You can also see that the chevron logo was used on this pickguard. Maybe it was replaced with an earlier year but pickguard fits the pickups and I don't really care. If I find a star logo pickguard at some point I may change it.

This shot is just the back of all three custom colors which show the grain of the wood nicely through the finishes.

And the last shot is the Starfires in their permanent position on the GWOF. (Guild wall of Fame.

As I said earlier I am very proud of this collection and if I ever end up selling my entire collection off I will never sell these four. Enjoy the shots my friends and thanks. MB

As good as the Starfires look, I really like the Aristocrat. Just awesome.

Oh yeah, I'm not taking anything away from the Aristocrat. It took me years to get that one guitar as well. Basically because of the price, but it's worth every last penny. Just a killer guitar. Sweet player and I love the script logo on the '57 models.

Fantastic collection. What is it about the SFIIIs of that era which drove you to this stunning stable of Starfires?

Well my first Guild was a Starfire. Then when I finally got one with the Dearmond pups I really fell in love with the tone. I like the tone and resonance of the hollowbody Starfires better than the semi hollow models and they are much lighter. Then I was seeing the custom colors for sale and really liked them all. And that is what made me decide to go for the entire color selection other than they are quite rare. But I love many Guild models. I am also fascinated by the X series models as well. And that's basically why I decided to go for it. I have had probably 2 dozen Starfire models over the last 20 years.

Does the dog play piano or just sing?

According to the visual evidence I would say the dog sleeps, a lot, in the warmest spot in the house! :D
Beautiful collection.

Hi guys and gals, just to straighten it out the dog belongs to the guy I bought the Aristocrat from. This is one photo I put on a hosting site before I bought the guitar. So I do not know whether he plays and sings or not, but he sure can sleep. If you have interest in the Aristocrat I can upload my pix and post on another thread. Thanks. MB
