Alright guys thank you for the welcome. I have the serial number for my Guild right here: 201204
I know it has to be old but how old. The story is: I was in my buddies guitar shop when this guy comes in holding this thing by the neck, even though I was 17 I saw the pearl inlayed "Guild" at the top. He said it fell 6 feet on a concrete floor. My heart just dropped. It cracked the neck badly took a chunk of spruce off the top and scratched it badly. Yeah that was 11 years ago and I'm only just now getting to it, I fixed the neck straightend it now all I have to do is get a custom made nut and saddle for it, she sounds good. The tag on the inside says D40 NT (I don't know what the NT stands for) but it's all written my hand with dark blue or black pen. I you guys find anything out let me know sure would like to find out how old she is.

Date of manufacture? I'm thinking 1979, based on looking up the serial number.
But there are other people who will know better than me and they'll come along.

NT stands for Natural Top, as opposed to a stained top.

Good luck with your guitar!

Is there a letter prefix before the serial number?

"NT" stands for natural top nb.....as opposed to a sunburst color top which would be a "SB".
