I've got a Fender 69 Thinline Tele RI which I love, but I want to have some way to blend the pickups a little bit (without making any irreversible changes). The thought of losing the tone knob doesn't appeal to me, so the 51 wiring is out.

My thought was to use something like Stewart-MacDonald's 5-way Super Switch: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics ... ml#details

If I wire it with some resistors across the mid-center positions I should be able to reduce the output of one or other pickup, giving me switch positions something like this: 1)neck, 2)neck+1/2bridge, 3)neck+bridge, 4)1/2neck+bridge, 5)bridge.

So I've got the concept, but I can't find a wiring diagram to make it happen and I'm not skilled enough to draw one out of thin air. Anyone have any ideas? I'm down for experimenting, but I don't even really know where to start!

Hey chrisb, I have the 5 way super switch installed on a P90 tele project I did awhile back. With all of the Guilds in the house, it doesn't get played a ton so I can't give you a play by play off the top of my head.

I believe I have a diagram for it that I could scan & email if it will help in figuring out your modifications.

Hey chrisB,
Do a search on Google for "tele mods." There is a ton of info, since modding Tele wiring is a favorite pasttime. There is even a forum for it http://www.telemodders.com/. Maybe best to post the question there.
