Just wanted to put this up for folks who may not know of this band yet, I was lucky enough to hear a cut on the radio this morning.
It was one of those cuts that made me put it on my "gonna buy that album on the strength of that one cut" list.
Album is their newest: Made up Mind , cut was the "the Storm".
Do ya love that Duane Allman style slide and reverse volume pedal attacks that evoke backward tape sounds like the Beatles in "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "I'm Only Sleeping" and Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?", mixed with a flavor of Lydia Pense's vocals with Cold Blood on "You Got Me Hummin"?
That's what I was rememberin' when I heard this.
Name of their recording studio, "Swamp Raga Studio" says it all.
And love that album cover.
eaceful:
For those who may not know who Derek Trucks is yet, he's Butch Trucks' (Allman Brothers) nephew and has been payin' his dues for quite a while now, here's his Wiki page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Trucks
OK, that's my good deed for the day!
Remember also if you go to Amazon from here, the Forum'll get a small royalty.
A real painless way to donate!
