Can someone enlighten me...what is the difference between these 2 guitars? To my untrained eye they look identical. I'm thinking specifically of late 50's/early 60's models.

Hi Zachary,

The 1950's models with the P90ish looking Franz pickups are near identical except the CE model body is around 3 inches deep and the T body s around 2 inches deep. The variations of the T and CE as you move into the 1960's and beyond get more complex with each having subtle variations.

They have the exact same silhouette and electronic setup around that era, but like Matsickma says, the body is quite a bit deeper on the CE100, different feeling and sounding guitar.
The way to tell them apart, seen from the front, at a glance is that the CE100 has a block inlaid neck, the T-100 has dots.
