Chris and Pierre, I'll trace the pickguard and annotate it, probably on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Chris, it would be best to mail you a copy so the tracing will be the actual size. If you wish, just send me a PM with a mail address I can send the tracing to. I'll also post it here, but the size won't be exact.

I've found this site to be a really great place to get information on old Guilds. I've received much help in the very short time I've been here and really appreciate it.

Thanks everyone. I will post pictures as soon as my guitar returns form the luthier where it is under treatment for a binding repair and peghead faceplate restauration. Should get it back within 10 days.

Pierre, jp & dave: You guys rock!

I've been looking for some good images & measurements to have my luthier make me a guard for my 58 T100. Thanks to you I now have them!

Post pics as you go, Pierre!

Cheers,
Chris
Glad to help out, guys. Chris, PM me with your email address and I'll send you the PDF scan I have. It prints out to the exact size.

Just for the record, here's a photo of the unrepaired peghead before restauration...you'll understand why it needs a little love. I don't know who's the stupid who did that. I'll post a picture of the repaired head.

Guildmark. I could sure use the Chesterfield part of that logo for my T100. Do you know someone who has one for sale? The Ebay one doesn't have the verticle stripes that the original Guild's had.

Dave,

The one with the 3 stripes would certainly be more authentic, wouldn't it.
I'll make a couple of casual inquiries but I doubt if I have any better contacts than anyone else.

Good luck, too! Looks like a very worthwhile project.

Thanks guys. The references for the overlay are great. My luthier had someone in Vermont do the overlay. I don't know if he will have made the one with 3 stripes or the more current one...I will find out once it is received. Anyway, from where I start, both will be a significant improvement, altough the one with 3 stripes would be more authentic. Hope the references are useful to Dave.

Thanks for the reference on the overlays. I check Ebay every day and have been following that auction. I'm trying to refurbish my T100 on the cheap, and since I plan to keep it for myself, am in no hurry to finish it, so passed the auction up.

For those waiting on the pick guard tracing. I should have it done today.

Hi everyone,

My T-100 restauration project is almost completed !! Sorry I missed the e-bay auction for the 1958 pickguard...exactly what I need...sh**. Meanwhile I had a repro made based on the tracing that JP posted (thanks again JP) and it completes the guitar pretty nicely. I also had my luthier repair the head which was in miserable condition when I got the guitar. Sylvain Courcelles, from here in the Montreal area did the job and I must say i am truly impressed. Here are some pictures of the before and after head as well as picture of the completed project. Will try to grab the next original pickguard once I see one again.
