Made by D'Addario and private labeled for 'em.

Guild was first to ship guitars with D'A's new PB alloy in '74, and suspect all the flattops at least used D'A until around '99 when Fender started using a Mexican supplier they owned.

One unique thing about Guild's D'Addario L350 lights set was the use of an .025 G string (which continued to show up on spec sheets even after the gauge had changed). Most light sets use an .024, as did the MIM L350s, and the D'A EJ-16 set. But D'A still offers a pb .025 single which I sub into an EJ-16 set to faithfully replicate the L350's my D25 was shipped with.

Electrics and basses may have had a different supplier at times, not sure if D'A could fill those needs.

Guild brand strings were dropped in Tacoma and D'A was brought back for the revived Guild strings brand in New Hartford and is still the OEM supplier now, although the Guild branded strings have been dropped again.

My late production Tacoma D-55 came with D'Addario PB mediums, as did her replacement NH 2014 D-55...not sure if those
were EXP...that guitar was set up so well by them I thought they were lights!

Based only on the "rumour" that there was some collaboration between DR and Guild at some point, I tried DR's long ago and they are wonderful it seems on all my Guilds, especially that newer series that strat with "V" that I cannot bring to mind.

OTOH, neither my D-55 nor F-47 take to the monel/nickel compound strings at all...like putting electric flat wound strings on an acoustic! They are excellent on my Huss & Daltons but terrible on the Guilds...

Man up, git yer mediums on...;)
