As I understand it polyurethane lacquer's extremely tough to remove in a manner that won't damage the guitar's wood or binding, like I wouldn't even consider it myself, I think.How easy or hard is it to strip a gloss urethane finish off of a guitar and then do a walnut satin finish on it? What if it has a bound neck?
Also runs the risk of taking away wood, especially risky for a top if it's not a solid body.I have been watching YouTube vids. Seems like sanding is the way to go. But looks like I would not have the patience for it!!
