Hello everyone!
I'm Armando from Slovenia (Europe). I play guitar for about 10 years now, mainly worship. A year ago when I decided to buy a new guitar, my brother came up with Guild guitars and this forum. I read quite a lot and in the end decided to buy one. Since I don't have much budget I bought GAD JF48 jumbo model. I am very satisfied with it. But there is one thing I want to ask. There is a hole in the place where a strap button should be. I belive it is left like this if I wanted to instal pick up, but I use microphone instead. So my question is how do I fix the button. Should I simply glue it (what glue should I use)?
Thank you for your responses and I'm sorry for my english!
Peace and all well!
Armando.

Armando - Welcome to Let's Talk Guild.

I have a Guild D50 which I bought new by mail where the strap button (or end pin as it is usually called) was not inserted. I did not find it necessary to use glue - however, I did replace the end pin and bridge pins with ebony ones. I just pushed the end pin in with normal force using my thumb - and it has stayed there. I don't recommend using glue.

Welcome, Armando,

I've had the great pleasure of visiting Slovenia, from the forest around Ljubljana to that great little port Piran.

The endpin will stay in without glue. Putting glue in the end pin hole would be a mistake. It would make it hard to get out.

Armando,
There are two easy methods I know of for the end pin.

1. Push the end pin in its hole tight then give it a light tap with the heal of your hand.

2. As you are pushing the end pin in hard, give it a 1/4 turn. That will tighten it up just like a tunning peg in a violin.

PLEASE NO GLUE.

Welcome aboard!!
