I usually hit the waterfront when the weather gets wild and here's the first thing I saw when I arrived today.

Below this mast is a 28' sailboat, or at least that's the scuttlebutt I picked up. Seems it broke its mooring across the bay during the night and ended up on the breakwater at the main harbor, 2 1/2 miles away. :hopelessness:

Yikes,
Joe

Yikes indeed!! Follow that mast down and project a 28 footer down below? Sad to see..... but the ocean has never been that forgiving. Great, if worrisome, photo, Joe... :hopelessness:

It's kind of fishy :) seeing multiple expensive boats under water. Either there are a lot of unskilled captains or they're upside down on the loan !

I was at Disappointment Point, OR On the top of the lighthouse, Sunday the 29th. It was indeed a wild storm! Seas and waves there were 20 -30 ft. I'll post a few pics when I get back home.

Once heard a sailboat described as a "hole in the ocean that one throws money into." ;-)

joe...was there a tornado in the NW??

Till Joe checks in, here's a local news cast ref the Fredrickson Tornado: http://www.kirotv.com/news/news/possible-tornado-spotted-pierce-county/nbBZD/.

Occasionally, we get some weather here, heavy winds from time to time, some municipalities, in the Cascade Mt foothills close to certain spots, where the problem persists, have beefed up building codes, particlarly roofing specs, About once a decade an ice storm gets everyone's attention. Best I can recall, never before an official tornado.
