My T100's p'guard produces a crackling noise through my amp if my fingers brush across it rythmically. What a freakin' pain. Does anybody have a clue out there?

My Tele has the same problem. Can't tell you what to do other than use some fabric softner & rub it on & buff off. Stops mine but also comes back after awhile. Try & see if it will help yours.

It's probably the nylon Hawaiian shirt!

Actually, your clothes and other static generators like carpeting can put a 2,500 volt static charge on your body. Probably the best thing you can do is reduce the static generators (nylon, rayon, polyester) or buy some static dissipative shoes, or get a pair of static dissipative straps for your shoes, no kidding. You gotta drain off that charge somehow.

 That's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe groundstraps for shoelaces?

Actually, come to think of it, you have to be standing on a grounded surface for those heel straps to work.

I wonder if a metal-jacket (shielded) guitar cable would help?
