Search LTG for Ryan Adams and you will turn up some Catherine Popper and her Starfire bass. This clip isn't her. Can't tell whether it is a 70's or 90's bass but always nice to see one in action anyway.

Thanks.

the bass in the video that Drka posted is an original Guild Starfire, and it is owned by Ryan Adams. I don't know what year the bass was made but it's not a reissue. the bass player is the late Chris Feinstein, who replaced Catherine Popper after she left the band. Cat actually introduced Ryan to Chris, to help him find a replacement when she left. They were both amazing with the Cardinals.

Cat told me that when she was in the band, Ryan liked her bass so much (an all original 1967 maple/sunburst Starfire 1), that he decided to purchase one of his own. There are also a couple of videos out there of Cat playing Ryans Starfire 2, instead of her own Starfire 1...because according to Cat, in some rooms/set ups "Ryan's humbukers didnt make the spaceship noises my bass would make." ...although I must add to that, I have seen/heard Cat play her Starfire 1 many times over the past couple years and it never sounded anything other than absolutely fantastic, no issues whatsoever. so if there were any problems with it, she has long since addressed it. What she was talking about was like 6-7 years ago...her bass is still all original, she has the single Hagstrom Bisonic pick up. I have many videos of her playing it if anyone wants to see/hear them. here is a video of Cat playing Ryan's bass-

Thanks.

Combining the information presented, Ryan's SF II should be between 1970-71 and 1977 since it is not a reissue but does have humbuckers.

The spaceship noises may be simple electrical interference. I have the same humbuckers on my JSII. When playing at home the Starfire definitely picks up something from the room lights and dimmer switch that the JS does not. Turning off the lights makes the interference go away with the Starfire but the JS doesn't seem to notice/care
