LIke an idiot, I took my pickguard off about 20 years ago and haven't seen it since. I want to make a replacement. Does anyone have a template for the stair-step pickguard or maybe even the earlier one that is a file they could e-mail ?

Hey Chris,

Here's a thread in which I made a template for the late 50s-early 60s 1/8 in thick black Guild pickguard that usually had a chevron logo on it.

Here are directions from another thread.

I don't know if you already new this, but the early pickguards, I think throughout the 60s were simply clear plexi with the logo screened in reverse and then painted black on the back. This makes the process pretty easy. If you need to source material, this place has 1/8 in clear plexi (no 31). I'm also a big fan of TAP Plastics discount bin!
If you need a scan and dimensions for the chevron logo, PM me. If you want a period correct one, I'll try to scan stairstep from my SFIII. Let me know. Personally, I like the look of the chevron logo best.
