I was going crazy trying to find a set of 2x2 tuners for my '67 restore. A 60's set went for $240+ on evil bay last week . Kinda scarey. I got a set of Hipshot HB5 ( which are for Ric bass) and they are spot on . The only thing is they have a slot in the post for the strings, all holes line up. Im happy I dont have to drill.

Ah...glad to hear it. I've found plenty of options for vintage-to-new tuners/bushings for six string that don't require drilling out the headstock, but bass seems to be a different story.

Yeah, sorry for sending you some dimensions recently. Im a goof ball some times. I now have 2 sets of grover 2x2 ,one vintage style and one modern. I guess Ill have to find some bass(s) to fit them. :p
Now fixing the 'sanded thru veneer ' on my starfire can begin. Ill post some pics when I start.I dont quite have the stones to cut and paste just yet.M
