This is the only Squier S-73 I've seen for sale recently:

Seller is asking $400 or looking to trade for a comparable Strat.

IME these seem show up for sale even less often than the DeArmond S-73s.
When you're searching around, also try using "Squier Series 24" as a search inquiry.

Did find an DeArmond S-73 for sale on Reverb, imo a very handsome guitar.

Both nice!

A S-73 is almost rare! How funny! That one on CL Richmond, VA looks to be in excellent condition!

IME - Fedex Office Print & Ship locations will fragile-pack a guitar (provided it's in a hard case) and put in a heavy-duty guitar box
for $25. Shipping Fedex Ground from Richmond VA area to Minneapolis probably around $75.
Have made many CL purchases this way - I purchase the shipping label at Fedex.com and email it to the Fedex Office location,
seller drops off the guitar there, Fedex bills my CC for the box and packing.
It's more work than Reverb or Ebay - mostly done through email, sometimes a phone call or several, and I try to avoid
texting - and arguably riskier, but believe it or not, over many years, have had no issues
working one-on-one with CL sellers.

Ralf, any idea where the set-neck Squier S-73s were made vs the DeArmond S-73s?
Both MIK as far as I know.
Would be curious to compare a Squire S-73 to a DeArmond S-73, wonder if
any obvious differences in feel, fit & finish - and tone, of course :)

Both MIK as far as I know.
Both made in Korea at Cor-Tek (known for the Cort brand name). Squier came after DeArmond.
The DeArmond guitar line was stopped by FMIC during 2004 after 8 years of production. From 2002 to 2004 the M-50, M-70, M-77, S-65, S-73, Starfire 4 type and X-155 were produced in the same Cor-Tek factories under the Squier brandname with SD pickups.

Cor-Tek closed their Incheon/Korea factory in 2008 after big strikes of their workers for better working conditions and today still have factories only in Surabaya/Indonesia (the former "IC" serial numbers) and Dalian/China.

So in general since both came from the same factory I would expect them to be of similar quality. I could only guess the US made and US installed (in Corona) DeArmond pickups sound better than the generic "Duncan designed" humbuckers (ceramic?) in the Squier.
