I have three Guild 12-strings, and have been unwilling to let any of them go. I couldn't work it out as to why, so I decided to make a spread-sheet which evaluates the attributes that I care about. Mind you, everyone has their own priorites as to what is important to them. I formed three categories : (1) Sound, (2) Appearance, and (3) Stage, with attributes tabulated below each category. Note that some attributes show up under multiple categories, e.g., "Overall vibe" is listed under both "Appearance" and "Stage".

What I learned is what I already knew, that, in summary, (a) my GAD G212 is a good-sounding, great strumming guitar, and a superb stage guitar, having a good set-up, reliability, comfort, and sound (b) my D212 is a good-sounding guitar with a great bass and strong, balanced frequencies, and with a superb appearence and overall vibe, (c) my JF65-12 is a superb sounding guitar, with great volume, strong highs, and great bass, and also outstanding appearence.

Guess I'll hang on to 'em.
