So I'm wondering where one can order Guild guitar parts from? Is there any one or several sources for parts? Only from Guild/Fender or are there good dealers out there that carry parts? For now, specifically, I'm needing a new bridge for my '74 F50 jumbo. Thanks in advance for any advice for finding this and anything that I, or anyone, might need.

Welcome.

Jay at New Hope Guitar Traders often has parts.

Hans, author of The Guild Guitar Book often has parts.

Both sometimes visit here, Hans more often than Jay.

There are a couple of folks who apparently worked for Guild in Rhode Island who seem to have parts that show up on eBay. Alas, I don't recall their eBay user IDs.

Hello Bear Picking,

Welcome!

Bridges for a guitar from that period are a little harder to get. Not so much because they're not available but because the specifications for that bridge were not very specific. This means that if you would find a bridge it might not cover the 'footprint' of the old bridge.

Also, during this period many F-50s still had a rosewood bridge ( often a Brazilian rosewood one) even though the catalog already mentions an ebony bridge.

There is a chance that I can help you but you will need to give me sufficient info, so I can look for one that will properly fit your F-50.

Is the old bridge still on the guitar? Can you show me a close-up picture?

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Thanks for the replies and the welcomes. Nice to start being a part of the "Let's Talk Guild" community! Yes Hans, I do still have the bad bridge that needs replacing, it's still on and functioning on the guitar. I beleive you may be right... that it is made of rosewood and not ebony. I'll work on taking a close up photo of it as you've suggested and send it to you. Thank you for taking an interest in my F50's ailment.
