When did Guild change the sound hole design?
I noticed on my JF30 and several older guild's that the top is a flat piece of wood with a round hole cut out of it.
Many of the newer models, (F50R) and (F512) I've been looking at seem to have a beveled sound hole.
Is this just a different way to finish it? Was this an improvement or just a cosmetic thing?
just wonderin'

You got a point in that, Picky. My 212 was just sawn straight through, just slightly sanded so there are no sharp edges. The new soundholes have a more beveled profile. The new sound holes also feature a different reinforcement (maple) that goes all the way to the edge of the soundhole, making the top seem thicker than it actually is. There clearly has been a change of design at this area of the instruments.
