Here are some sound clips of my Marcellis-brand arch top. And my Grey Goose.

Let me know what you think. Personally, I think this arch top is a monster.

I waited until the arch top had suitably dead strings. They're 3 month old EXP .10's. They're dead.

The Grey Goose has about 6 week old Nano .11's. They still sound pretty good.

Now that I have a decent mixer, I can finally make a marginal recordings.

Don't mind my poor guitar playing. Everything is unrehearsed. I'm not a great guitarist anyway.

Also I did nothing to edit the recordings. They're acoustic-only. No pick-ups.

No EQ, no compression, no FX, no normalization, no gate, no nothing.

So what you hear is what the mic picked up.

Warning - this arch top is bright and it is loud. In the beginning I clipped
it a a couple of times. You can hear my pick clicking the pickguard too.

I did not change volume settings or mic placement for these guitars.
They were both recorded with exactly the same set-up. I didn't adjust
volume levels or even move the mic.

Arch top is carved Spruce top & solid Mahogany back & sides. No laminate.

ARCH TOP CLIP

Grey Goose is Cedar top & Cambodian Rosewood Back & Sides. You can hear some street
noise in the back ground on this recording.
