Namely Zaila Avant-garde (her real name so far as I can tell), the recent winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee championship, and something of a genius.

And what becomes a genius best?

If you click on the first clip in this link (Zaila showing off her juggling skills) you'll notice a guitar hanging on the wall behind her (if you can bear to take your eyes off her for five seconds), a Guild.

Any guesses as to the model?

Cool link!

One of my totally useless skills is being able to ride a unicycle, although it's been quite a while. I'm telling you that what she is doing is not easy!

Before we even got married, a friend of mine suggested the " Juggling for the complete klutz " book which came with 3 , square, bean bags to juggle. My wife learned how but I never did.

I had that, really good. Never progressed beyond the basic 3 object level, but I do still occasionally juggle, mainly clubs

How impressive? HANS DIDNT CARE WHAT GUILD IT WAS!!!
Paul
There's so much talent in that video that I cannot imagine anyone would be interested in the guitar that's hanging on the wall.

However if you are really interested, I would think that we're looking at a Guild GAD-25, but I would be interested in hearing her play the guitar.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

While I can juggle a bit I never mastered riding my big Sister's unicycle (neither did she). Although one day a friend of mine was over the house and when he saw the unicycle in the garage. He said; "I can ride that!" We all stood there going, yeah, right. Well damn if he didn't pedal that thing down the driveway, hung a left and went past a couple of houses down the street. Then he turned around and rode it back. We all just stood there gobsmacked! We had no clue!

I hope she takes up drums. She would excel at that too.

It's one of this things that no one believes because it's so odd! And difficult!

The last time I rode one was in a bike shop parking lot. I went there with my two sons to check out getting them new bikes. I saw the unicycle and told the boys I learned how to ride one years ago. The employees in the shop said "Ha! No way!". So after getting a promise that if I dinged it up it was their problem, I rode it around the parking lot. They were also "gobsmacked", and so were my kids.

Of course, I was sore for a few days after, just that short ride, but it was worth it. Admittedly at my age now, it would be a medical disaster waiting to happen if I tried that again...

I taught myself to juggle while staying up all night recording a Dead New Years Eve show back in the 80’s when they broadcast them. Basic 3 tennis ball stuff, but a can do it. My youngest son taught himself to ride a unicycle about 6 years ago. Pretty cool talent!
now, if I could just learn to play the guitar…

This girl is going places. She's got big plans, if you've heard her interviews. And judging from the determination it takes just to do all that juggling in all thosepatterns and winning the National Spelling Bee Championship, I believe she's gonna make it!
