Sorry LTGers, but it sold in minutes after I listed it on TGP.

That's right, the Bluesbird of legend. Here's a pic to get us started:

If you followed the original story (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23924), then you know that this guitar is stamped USED and has the last few digits of the S/N scored out. Details are in the thread, but this is not a stolen guitar, and I did everything I could to prove that to myself before I accepted it. The original sale was a disaster, but this is really a great guitar. After all was said and done, I got it for $850.

I polished the frets, replaced the tone caps with RS Electronics caps (did not change the pots), and changed the pickups to a pair of vintage HB1s. The pickups in the guitar were SD Seth Lovers that were pretty stellar. The guitar now sounds more vintage, but since the Seth Lovers were so great, it wasn't a huge increase in quality, just a different timbre.

Here's a pic with the HB1s in it:

I had to alter the rings a bit to get them to fit. The thin parts of the rings have been sanded a bit.

The pickup routes were routed a *tiny* bit at the corners because the HB1s would not drop right in. This pic shows what I mean:

I have a rule where I try to have only one example of a type of guitar. This guitar is a lot like my Les Paul R9, so one of them has to go. If I was smart, I'd keep this and sell the R9, since the R9 cost over 4X what this one did, but when I bought this guitar I thought it was more of a Brockburst color - it's not - it's clearly a tobacco burst. I'm not a fan of tobacco burst. Here's a comparison next to the R9:

This guitar is more resonant than my R9, but not by much (My R9 kicks butt :) ) [edit - LOL - the board changes "kicks a-s-s" to "kicks me"]. The chambering really adds that little extra something, and it's a heck of a lot of fun to play unplugged. The neck is chunky, but just a tad smaller than my R9's neck. It's much chunkier than any other Guild I've played, but it's certainly not R8 baseball bat thick. It's a joy to play - I really love the neck on this guitar.

Comes with original case which is great condition.

Fret wear is minor. On the first couple of frets there some visible wear on the first couple of strings, but nothing that affects play.

Action is low. I like real low action on electrics and I set it so the low E actually buzzes a little.

The wood grain is every bit as nice as my R9, and it's better matched. If this thing was more of a Brockburst color, It would be staying - it's that good.

Why sell? I have too many guitars, and a Guild 12-string on the way, so I need the room! :)

So here's the deal:

Guitar w/ HB1s + Seth Lovers: $1150 shipped w/Paypal
Guitar w/ HB1s (I keep Seth Lovers): $1000 shipped w/Paypal
Guitar w/ Seth Lovers (I keep HB1s): $900 shipped w/Paypal

Why $900 and not $850? Because I'll have to pull out the HB1s and solder in the Seth Lovers and I don't feel like doing it. :)

Continental US only for this price. I'll ship out of the US only if I know you or if your reputation here is well established. If I ship outside the US, you pay all fees and all customs, and I will not falsify forms.
